The other day my husband was teasing me that it won’t be long before it looks like Christmas exploded in the middle of our house.
I promised him that I would keep it under control this year, and for the most part I did.
Well…depending on which one of us you ask.
But truly, I love this time of year between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, and it’s that feeling that inspired me to create a new six-week long class I’ve entitled: Savor One Season — The Holidays.
I call it my SOS for the holiday season — and I’ll be talking about ways to savor this special time of year and leave nothing on the table.
Now — that doesn’t mean this course is about running around like a chicken.
To the contrary!
The holiday edition of Savor One Season is about slowing down and finding ways to redefine and reframe the holidays so they fit with who you are and what your needs are right now, at this time in your life.
To savor this wonderful time of year, I begin with ways to think about your own holiday story — what it was, and what it might be now or in the future.
Next week I’ve got ideas for distilling the holidays down, identifying the most important elements of the holidays so you have an idea of which things are essential and which things are extraneous.
I have strategies for creating a warm and welcoming sense of home for yourself and the people you share your time with.
The following week is all about slowing down in the middle of all the holiday hubbub….without feeling like a Scrooge or Grinch!
Then, for the days leading up to Christmas, you receive some practical ideas for remaining present in the moment.
And finally for the week of New Year it’s all about looking ahead to the new year with a sense of excitement and anticipation.
This six week series begins this week — Savor One Season: The Holidays — is an online class available at Teachable.com.
This week you’ll find a video lecture and a set of worksheets that lead you step-by-step through the process to creating your own unique holiday story.
